On this map we can see the average household size in each US county. It’s the lowest in Kalawao County, Hawaii, with an average of 1.41 people per household. Several counties in the Dakota’s, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska and Wisconsin have a very low average household size.

The household size is the highest in Oglala Lakota County, South Dakota with an average of 5.14 people per household. We can see that the household size is larger in some parts of Alaska, California, Idaho, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas and Utah.
