This map gives a very clear picture of where the 100 best universities of Europe are located. As you can see, almost a third of them are located in the UK and 8 of the top 10 European universities being located in the UK. Germany comes in second with 13 universities. Closely followed by the Netherlands with 12 universities.
London is the city with the highest number of universities in Europe’s top 100 (5 universities). 4 of them are even in Europe’s top 10. The other cities with more than one university in Europe’s top 100 are: Paris (4), Berlin (3), Zürich (2), Lausanne (2), Munich (2), Amsterdam (2), Copenhagen (2), Stockholm (2), Dublin (2), Gothenburg (2), Vienna (2), Barcelona (2), Madrid (2).
