Sugary drinks are not very good for your health. We probably all drink them sometimes, although it’s probably best if we don’t drink it too often.

On this map we can see the percentage of the population that drinks sugar-sweetened soft drinks every day. There doesn’t seem to be a very strong geographical pattern. It’s a bit all over the place. However, the Baltics and Finland have the lowest percentage.

It seems that in Central Europe the percentage is a bit higher. But there is one country where the percentage is higher than anywhere else, Belgium. A fifth of Belgians consumes sugar-sweetened soft drinks every day.

Data for this map comes from Eurostat.
