We can see that life expectancy in Africa is highest north of the Sahara and parts of Eastern and Southern Africa. Life expectancy is highest in Algeria (77.8), followed by Libya (76.9) and Mauritius (76.7).
The lowest life expectancies can be found mostly south of the Sahara in the Sahel region. The Central African Republic has the lowest life expectancy (55.1). Somalia has the 2nd lowest (55.3) and Mozambique the 3rd lowest (56.5).
