A few years ago, I posted a map about the share of electric vehicles in Europe. Back then, EVs we’re not a very widespread thing around Europe or any other place in the world. In 2019, Norway and the Netherlands were clearly far ahead of the rest of Europe when it came to EVs.

In 2022, Norway is still very far ahead of any other European country. 20.62% of passenger cars in Norway are fully battery-electric. Sweden (3.97%) and Iceland (3.88) have caught up with the Netherlands (3.70%) and now rank second and third respectively, in Europe, just above the Netherlands.

Compared to the previous map, we can tell that Denmark, Germany, Austria and Switzerland are also starting to catch up.

Data for this map comes from Eurostat.
