We looked before at which European men and women are the tallest in Europe. On this map, we’re going to take a closer look at South America and see which South American men and women are the tallest.

According to data from the NCD-RisC, both Brazilian men and women are the tallest in Brazil, at an average height of 175.7 cm and 162.4 cm respectively. Surinamese women are the second tallest (162.3 cm) and Uruguayan women (161.6 cm) the third tallest in South America.. Argentinian men are the second tallest (174.8 cm) and Surinamese men (174.5 cm) the third tallest in South America.

Both Peruvian men (166.8 cm) and women (154.4 cm) are the shortest in South America. They are followed by Ecuadorian men (167.3 cm) and women (155.2 cm) and Bolivian men (168.1 cm) and women (155.6 cm).
